Suntory Hibiki 21 Kacho Fugetsu Limited Edition Blended Japanese Whisky
Japanese whisky continues to grow in popularity, subsequently becoming increasingly difficult to find. A number of the populate Japanese whiskies from Suntory and Nikka are developed in a style similar to that found in Scotch, having the Scottish distilling experience brought to Japan by Masataka Taketsuru, who was largely influential in the setup and processes followed at Suntory’s Yamazaki distillery and later continued with Nikka. To suit the Japanese palate, many Japanese whiskies are found in a sweeter style, even those with peat influence are often sweet and salty rather than the big medicinal notes found in some Scottish whiskies.
Hibiki 21 has won several medals at the World Whisky Awards for best Japanese whisky and best blended whisky. It’s an incredible whisky in its own right and this limited edition also includes ornate packaging with Mt Fuji and a landscape in gold leaf adorning the bottle.
