Waterford Single Farm Origin Bannow Island Edition 1.1 Irish Single Malt Whiskey

One of the first releases from Waterford Distillery, a distillery in Ireland focused on displaying the quality of barley and soil across the country. This focus on terroir certainly differentiates them from many distilleries and with this whisky from the first releases, it’s certainly clear what this approach is capable of, with a huge amount of flavour available in this whisky, only just over 3.5 years old.

Tasting Notes: 
Nose – chocolate, strawberries
Palate – chocolate, caramel, bread, floral
Finish – creamy vanilla and spice

Waterford Distillery is a new Irish distillery focused on terroir (or provenance) of the barley used to produce their spirit, with total traceability and a wide-spread approach to their variety of cask maturation. The first whisky ran from the stills in January 2016 and 2020 marks their initial run of releases.
