This Balvenie whisky is a 15yo single barrel release, aged its full maturation in a European oak sherry butt, imparting amazingly rich and fruity flavours with an oily mouthfeel. An absolute sherry monster, comparable to sherried whiskies including Aberlour A’bunadh and Glendronach 18. The slight sulphur notes (likely from the sherry butt) are not overpowering and add complexity which pairs well with the nuttiness and sultanas.

Tasting Notes: 
Nose – caramel, marzipan, maraschino cherry, sultanas, light sulphur
Palate – spice, sultanas, brazil nuts, malt, fruit cake, orange peel
Finish – oak spice, sweetness begins to become drier and sultanas linger
ABV – 47.8%

Founded in 1892, Balvenie is located in the beautiful countryside of Dufftown, Speyside. Balvenie have their own farm where they grow tranditional Scottish barley, malting floors, a local spring, copper-smiths, a cooperage and many of the other common distillery requirements all taken care of on-site.
